Not even day one yet and it's been a challenge for some people already. Our plane landed at Geneva OK but all the other flights were diverted to Lyon due to a problem. So we waited ages for others to arrive before getting to Annecy. Even now at 11pm some have only just got here to the hotel.
Food is good, but the view from the window is platform 4 at the train station! Hoping tomorrow goes smoothly.

- Day 1: Start from the beautiful Savoie town of Annecy. Annecy to Le Grand Bornand following the 2nd half of the 1st mountain stage of the 2007 Tour de France. 94km taking in the 4th Cat Cote de Peguin and the 1st Cat Col de la Colombiere. http://www.cycling-challenge.com/colombiere.htm
- Day 2: Following the 1st half of the 2nd mountain stage of the 2007 Tour de France between Le Grand Bornand and Albertville. - I've followed the Tour De France and cycling generally since watching Stephen Roche win the triple in 1987. I have cycled for leisure, but spent more time running competitively over marathons and half marathons, over the past few years. Although I am a good distance runner I have never been strong on a bike and soon get left behind, so this challenge is really going to hurt. Although I have wanted to follow in the footsteps of the great cycling legends. And the main thing is to raise as much sponsorship as possible for Guide dogs.
